The Joshua Chamberlain Project is a non-profit in honor of Joshua Chamberlain Peck, started with a goal to spread kindness and support in schools and communities. Joshua passed away at the age of 10 on 30 December 2022 from a rare strain of bacterial meningitis. During his 12-day fight, and the months that followed his death, stories of his impact on his school and community provided comfort to those grieving. 

His school, Laurel Lane Elementary, began a “Kindness Club” in his honor. Classes signed up for weeks throughout the school year, performing acts of kindness and bringing joy to students, teachers, and faculty to honor him as he had done when he was alive. 

This led to the founding of the non-profit, “The Joshua Chamberlain Project” to help support the now multiple kindness clubs in his school district, collect donations for the pediatric intensive care unit where he spent his final days, and seek out other acts of kindness and support in the community that need support.
